Review #13 for 2019.
A colleague of mine and I needed to meet up for lunch last week, and Little Saigon was the perfect space for us. We've both been trying to eat a little healthier, so pho was a good option for tasty food without all the extra calories.
When we arrived around 11am during a weekday, we were the only ones there, so we had a choice of tables. The uncle who works there quickly brought us water and took our order. I got pho with steak and tripe (not the healthiest, but still better than a cheeseburger!), and my coworker ordered pho with all veggies and tofu. Both were great! Nice broth, good texture of noodles, and lots of basil and bean sprouts to add in.
Lots of other people came in during our time eating our lunch, and since we hadn't talked for a while, we stayed a while. The uncle was very nice in that he didn't kick us out or seem irritated. We were sure to pay attention to see if there was a wait, but there were always several tables open, so we weren't preventing other customers from being served.
I enjoyed the food, and the service was good. Good location too at the back of Windward City Shopping Center near Longs and Genki. Decent amount of parking. -

The Man owner has absolutely awful bedside manners. He is rude and has a bad attitude too. I asked for another sauce for me and he said he gave us 1; I said I need my own sauce because I wanted to place the Red rooster sauce inside my sauce. Not that it's any of his business! (My friend did not like hot sauce). Then the Curry tasted really watered down no spices and just a few pieces of chicken. Fried noodles looked good but no flavor on chicken or gravy and it was the same unflavored chicken they used in the curry!

Honestly don't understand why so many people are bitching about this place because I've had nothing but positive experiences here.
Yes, I'm sure there's better places to get pho, but at the end of the day it's relative to each person's preferences. I mean half of the people reviewing this place and giving bad reviews are people who transplanted here because of military duties and don't know a damn thing about Asian food. How can you criticize food that you couldn't even cook yourself, let alone know nothing about? As usual, always culture appropriating. I got a simple solution: you didn't like the food? Then suck it up and don't come back here. Nobody forces you to eat here, so you can either find a different spot that fits your bland pallet, or go cook it at home since you're such an expert -

Our go to pho restaurant located in windward city shopping center in between Genki sushi and kjs. Large bowls are large. A medium is usually enough to fill me up. All entrees are pretty reasonable including appetizers which run about $5 each. The beef brisket pho is what I normally order or the beef stew pho with egg noodles (egg noodles is an uncharge but totally worth it). The summer rolls or spring rolls are hard to pass up, give it a try. Owner seems unfriendly and strictly business but he's actually fun to talk with once you get to know him.

This is a go to for me when I'm wanting a quiet, clean lunch. In the late lunch hour, I'm often one of only a few people in here. I imagine/hope that they are busier at night.
The menu offers all of the Vietnamese basics. I don't eat beef so have never tried the pho, though that seems to be what everyone is here for. The menu is in English (of course) but some of the less popular items have strange English names. What I know as a "Vietnamese crepe" (banh xeo, I think) is called a "pancake" here. It doesn't matter; it's delicious whatever it's called.
This version doesn't come out of the kitchen quickly but when it does finally get to you, you can see why it was sort of slow to arrive. It's surely a lot of work for the kitchen. Seems like the turmeric batter might have been freshly prepared. The meats are delicately cut and the whole affair is so nice and light and crisp and not greasy like some versions can be. The bean sprouts and round onions inside are fresh and still crisp. The big stack of basil, romaine, and cukes are great too. I really would like a funkier fish sauce for dipping than they serve here, though. A minor complaint.
I ordered this dish once and liked it so much that I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never actually tried anything else here. Give it a shot if you're hungry but not in the mood for noodles or anything too meaty.
